Last updated September 2, 2026 Official Gadget Trade policy

01Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Gadget Trade handles information in connection with its website, marketplace, accounts, listings, orders, communications, verification processes, support services and related features.

Gadget Trade is operated within DE ASSURANCE GROUP (DAG Group) under the registered business name DE ASSURANCE TECH VENTURES. This policy describes the information practices of Gadget Trade as a marketplace service and should be read together with the Terms & Conditions and feature-specific policies published on the website.

02Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Gadget Trade. Some information is provided directly by you, some is created through your activity on the service, and some may be received from a service provider that supports a feature you have chosen to use.

  • Account information such as your name or username, email address, profile information and authentication-related records.
  • Marketplace information such as product titles, descriptions, prices, categories, locations, stock, photographs and other listing details.
  • Transaction information such as order references, delivery selections, payment status, receipts and related support records.
  • Communication information from messages, community interactions, reports and support requests where the feature requires it.
  • Verification information when you voluntarily or necessarily use an account, seller or transaction verification process.
  • Technical information such as browser or device characteristics, approximate location signals, log information and interaction data needed to operate and secure the service.

03How we use information

Gadget Trade uses information to provide the marketplace and the functions you request. This includes creating accounts, authenticating users, displaying listings, enabling search and discovery, processing orders, supporting delivery and pickup, communicating with users, providing customer support and maintaining the reliability of the service.

Information may also be used to protect users and the marketplace, investigate suspicious activity, enforce policies, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain security, troubleshoot technical problems, measure service performance and improve how features work.

Where a feature requires communications such as order updates, verification messages, support responses or security notices, relevant contact information may be used to deliver those communications.

04Marketplace and public information

Listings are designed to be visible to other marketplace users and, where a page is publicly accessible, may also be discoverable through search engines and other public web services. Sellers should therefore avoid placing private information in listing titles, descriptions, photographs or other public content.

A public profile or listing may contain information intentionally supplied for marketplace activity, such as a username, seller information, product details, location information or public reviews. Information that is not intended for public display is handled through the appropriate account or internal service path.

05Payments and transaction information

When you use a payment or checkout feature, Gadget Trade may receive transaction status and other information needed to connect the payment event to an order. Payment processing may also involve a third-party payment provider whose own terms and privacy practices apply to the processing performed by that provider.

Do not send card PINs, one-time authentication codes, passwords or other payment credentials to sellers, support staff through unofficial channels, or other users. Gadget Trade does not need those secrets to provide ordinary marketplace support.

06Verification and identity information

Some marketplace features may require verification. Where you submit verification information, it is used for the purpose described by the verification flow, such as confirming eligibility, protecting marketplace activity, reducing fraud or enabling a seller-related function.

Verification documents and private identity information are not intended to be displayed on public profiles or product listings. Access to such information is limited to authorised processes and personnel or service providers who need it for the relevant operation, subject to applicable requirements.

07Cookies, storage and similar technologies

Gadget Trade may use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, support security controls, measure performance and make the service work correctly.

You can control or clear certain browser storage through your device or browser settings. Some account, checkout or security features may not operate correctly if essential storage or cookies are blocked.

08Service providers

Gadget Trade relies on service providers for functions such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, image and media storage, payments, notifications, analytics or other technical operations. Information may be shared with a provider only to the extent reasonably necessary for that provider to perform its role for Gadget Trade or to comply with a lawful requirement.

Third-party providers may maintain their own privacy notices and terms. Where you directly use a provider’s service, you should review the provider’s current information about how it processes data.

09How We Protect Our Users

Gadget Trade uses a combination of account controls, authenticated sessions, access restrictions, communication safeguards, marketplace review processes, reporting tools and security monitoring intended to reduce scams, unauthorised access, payment abuse and harmful activity.

Important marketplace conversations are designed to remain on Gadget Trade where possible. We may detect patterns associated with requests to move transactions off-platform or requests for passwords, one-time codes, bank details, account numbers, card details or other sensitive information. These safeguards are designed to add friction to risky activity without replacing user judgement.

If you see suspicious behaviour, stop the interaction, avoid sending money or credentials, and use the reporting or official Support paths available on Gadget Trade.

10Security and account protection

Gadget Trade uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss or alteration. Security controls may include authenticated sessions, access restrictions, server-side secrets, monitoring and review of suspicious activity.

No online service can promise absolute security. You also play an important role by choosing a strong password, protecting your authentication methods, keeping devices secure and reporting suspicious account activity promptly.

11Retention of information

Information is retained for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating the marketplace, maintaining transaction records, resolving disputes, enforcing policies, meeting legal obligations and protecting the service.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods. Transaction, security, support and legal records may need to be retained after an account is no longer active when there is a legitimate operational, safety or legal reason to do so.

12Your requests and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights or choices relating to information associated with your account. These can include requesting access, correction, deletion where permitted, or clarification about how information is used.

To make a privacy request, contact Gadget Trade through an official support channel and describe the request clearly. We may need to verify that the request is connected to the correct account before taking action, particularly when the request concerns protected information.

13Children and age requirements

Gadget Trade is intended for people who are legally able to use marketplace services responsibly. We do not knowingly design ordinary marketplace account collection for children who are not permitted to use the service.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to Gadget Trade in circumstances where they should not have done so, contact support with enough information for us to investigate the situation.

14Service communications

Gadget Trade may send service-related messages such as account verification, security notices, order updates, support responses and important changes to marketplace policies. These messages are part of operating the service and may not be treated as optional marketing communications.

Where promotional communications are offered, available controls may depend on the communication channel and feature involved.

15Processing and service locations

Gadget Trade is a Nigerian marketplace, but the technical providers that support the service may operate infrastructure in different locations. Where information is processed through a provider, the provider’s infrastructure and applicable legal requirements may determine where the processing occurs.

Gadget Trade seeks to use appropriate safeguards for the information handled through its service providers and to limit access to what is reasonably necessary for the service.

16Changes to this Privacy Policy

This policy may change as Gadget Trade introduces new features, changes service providers, improves security, expands marketplace functionality or responds to legal requirements. The latest version is published on this page with an updated date.

Where a change is important to the way information is handled, Gadget Trade may provide additional notice through the service when appropriate.

17Contact and privacy support

For privacy questions, account requests, concerns about public information, or reports about information handled through Gadget Trade, contact gadgettradesupport@gmail.com or +234 813 241 5801 through the official support channels.

For general marketplace questions, the Help Center and Contact pages provide additional routes for support. Do not send passwords, authentication codes or payment secrets when making a privacy request.
